Meet Lucy Holland, a lovely yoga teacher who works in the Kent countryside near me, as Yoga By Lucy. Lucy's photos are another set from nearly three years ago that I'm catching up with sharing! She has her own home studio for private and small group lessons, and uses locations around her village and further afield for larger groups and events.
Lucy was having a new website built for her, and needed a range of new photos to use that illustrated the different classes and locations she uses. We also needed to create a visual brand for her with them that would go with existing photos and be able to continue to keep everything consistent and cohesive.
So this was one of the first times that I got my branding client to work through my brand vibe keyword framework so that we could establish the whole look and feel for her brand and brand photos, and then afterwards I discussed the editing style with her much more. It worked really well for this, all Lucy's photos go together and capture that brand vibe despite the different locations we used.
The brand words that Lucy came up with to aim for were natural, bright, neutral, relaxed and calm, inviting and welcoming. Her existing brand colours to keep were purple, teal and grey, and we got those into the photos in what Lucy wore and some props, plus some reds and natural green came from the locations. And she got Autumn for her brand season from my Discover Your Brand Personality Quiz which worked for the colours, and the natural bright feel Lucy wanted for the photos, without any extra saturation and keeping them light and bright and not going dark and moody at all! So I edited all the photos to go with this, to help keep them all cohesive and aligned with this new brand look and feel.
We ended up splitting the full branding shoot time into 3 separate sessions at different locations (I don't usually do this, it only worked because the locations were only a few minutes from where I live!). Two of which included photographing Lucy actually teaching, so everyone in those shots were willing, and had given us permission to be included😉
The first session was one of Lucy's classes in a beautiful barn, the middle session was of Lucy in her village of Shoreham for some authentic backdrops to photos just of her, and the final set were from the end of a small group class in her home studio and then some props and Lucy there afterwards.
I love this one! And it takes pride of place as the home page banner image of Lucy's website, really setting the vibe for her whole brand and business. See it in action here at https://yogabylucy.co.uk/ along with lots of others on the various pages. And here she is on Instagram where she's very good at sharing lots of current photos!

Oh and Piper the dog came and joined in briefly too - I need to write a separate blog about all the branding photos I've got with dogs!
"Of course Piper is the star⭐🐶!!!" Lucy said after seeing the photos!
