Hi, I’m Sarah Wassell and I run Marketing Matters. I do love a bit of alliteration but also liked the wordplay of how Marketing ‘matters’ to your Business, but also the many Marketing matters there are that you need to master to grow your Business.
I started the Business in early 2019 and my Website went Live that Easter. I started the business because I wanted to work for myself, so I could decide who I worked with and when. At the time I had 3 children living at home and wanted to be around for them. I had looked at a few jobs and they were either too small and local or big and a long commute. Now have the best of both worlds as I love what I’m doing and I’m based at home.
My Super Power is making things ‘super simple and achievable’. I stand out because I run my Business as I recommend others run theirs and my tag line is ‘Bring out the Marketer in You’ – meaning I’ll show you how.
My Mission is to help women (mostly) and empower them, with Marketing Skills, to run their Businesses and realise they can re-invent themselves at any age. I was 50 when I set up my Business and with focus and determination, anyone can do the same.
My Niche is Simple Strategy. Helping clients set their goals and achieve them by identifying their Ideal Client and connecting with compelling copy.
My Brand’s values are the same as my mission (see 4): empowering.
My Ideal Clients need help to focus on the ‘Essential Marketing Activities’ required to grow their own Business. They are usually overwhelmed with all the ‘stuff’ they need to do, so I try to make things simple and easy to follow. My IC is a version of me, at the start of my Biz journey.
The story behind my Logo is that I wanted something different. There were too many people sitting at desks with a laptop and a coffee. I wanted something bold, vibrant, fresh and empowering, as well as very different and memorable.
Pop Art is naturally bright, bold and fun, and it made total sense to make it my Brand style.
Pop Art is totally in line with my brand personality, as it is derived from Mass, Popular Culture images. It was the advertising and promotional messages used in the 1950 and 60’s. A big part of Marketing is Promotion and I love the messages Pop Art delivers with its bold statements, images, and colours. Plus it’s a bit tongue in cheek and not too serious which is very me too!
